Returns
All of the items
advertised for sale on the official Essex Recording Studios website are located in the European Union and are advertised on behalf of a single private owner selling off their collection of instruments and recording equipment accumulated over their years as a professional in the music and entertainment industries. We are advertising their personal collection and collecting payment on their behalf, therefore we cannot accept returns. All sales are final. The "For Sale" section of this site merely acts to facilitate the sale of these privately owned goods. All items are previously owned, but some are in brand new, never used condition, which will be stated in their condition descriptions if that is the case. All items are shipped from the European Union. If you are having your purchase shipped to a country outside of the European Union, you are responsible for covering your country's applicable taxes, tariffs and any other import charges that your country requires for importing an item. Please note that charges vary from country to country depending on the trade agreements each country has in place. Any relevant import charges are based on the country where an item was manufactured and not from where it is being shipped. For example, if you live in the USA and purchase a guitar made in Japan from a seller based in Germany , you would pay the USA's relevant import charges and duty based on the trade agreement for musical instruments sold between the USA and Japan, not Germany.

Damages and issues
Damages are quite rare with any items shipped out. Each item is professionally packed by hand with plenty of pro-grade bubble wrap and thick boxes. All items are photographed and video recorded to document their condition prior to sending the items to the buyer. Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is damaged so that we can evaluate the issue and help make it right.

All items are currently shipped using FedEx. Their terms and conditions apply to the shipment of your purchase. You are responsible for purchasing any desired additional insurance coverage above and beyond their standard coverage for the category of item you have purchased. You are further responsible for quickly responding to any required claim paperwork within the courier's guidelines in order to receive any potential compensation for loss or damage.  In the rare event that a damaged item must be sent back, you are responsible for correctly filling out all customs paperwork and ensuring the item is sent back un-used to the correct address with all of its original packaging and any protective film/stickers not removed and still in place.

Items that are never covered for damage
Certain types of items and parts of items are never covered for damage or defects on the pre-owned items you purchase through this site. This includes amplifier tubes and any servicing pertaining to amplifier tubes. Amplifiers and electronic goods are not covered for any technical issues whatsoever if being shipped to a country that uses a different voltage from the item's set voltage at the time it is shipped out. Guitar strings and pickup selector switches are not covered. Batteries are not covered, including the typical 9V batteries that power active pickups in electric guitars. Damage to tips on pointy guitars purchased without a hard case are not covered. Neck/Headstock breaks on guitars purchased without a hard case are not covered.
